Coddlers made by Sigma are typically inscribed with the words TASTE SETTERS, TASTE SETTER COLLECTION, or TASTE SETTER EAST on the bottom. At least two were made in Japan (some are inscribed JAPAN as well. Some Sigma backstamps include the name of the pattern.
These coddlers have only been seen in a "double" size.
There are three styles of lifting ring on the lid. There is the round lifting ring, made from a cylindrical strip of metal curved into a circular loop, and bonded to the lid (this is the lifting ring most commonly seen on egg coddlers). There is a square lifting ring, made from a cylindrical strip of metal, then shaped into a square or diamond-shaped ring with rounded corners, and then bonded to the lid. There is also an oval lifting ring.
