This pattern consists of a a theme celebrating the Turn of the Millennium, (which was celebrated most popularly as the transition from the year 1999 to the year 2000, although technically, it was the transition from 2000 to 2001). There are four distinct decals around the body of the coddler, each bearing three Roman Numerals, a planetary theme, and either the words 2000 AD or The Millennium

We don't know if this was a design sample, or an experiment. There is no backstamp on the example we've seen.
