These coddlers come in two shapes, convex with a pedestal, and concave with no pedestal.

The convex coddlers are known in a double size, with a square lifting ring. There is a blue line around the pedestal base. The following backstamp variations are known to exist for the convex variation:

• Blue Onion in script with two crossed arrows above the text.
• Blue Onion in script with two crossed swords and the letter A above the text.
• The marks OL, Woods, Lucky in a circle, with Japan beneath.

The concave coddlers are known in a double size, with a square lifting ring. The following backstamp variations are known to exist for the convex variation:

• No backstamp, sometimes with a MADE IN JAPAN sticker.
• Blue Onion in script with two crossed arrows above the text.
• Blue Onion in script with two crossed swords and the letter A above the text.
• The marks OL, Woods, Lucky in a circle, with Japan beneath.
